Books! It's reading time!

on 1.07.2009

I'm not sure that I got very far in my list of self imposed reading from last year... My goal was to read 100 books last year. I'm not certain how far I got, exactly... but I did read quite a few. I think I read about 30 total. I'll have to go back and check, but unless I'm blacking out on a cache of literary hangovers, I'd be willing to wager on way less than my original (and lofty) goal. I mean, really? 100 books in 1 year? I'd have to read these books (on average) one every 3.65 days (yes, I DID just do that math on the calculator... oh, man).

Seeing as how I *could* read a good sized book in that time, if I didn't have a job... or kids... or other hobbies... or a need for sleep... well, that goal might be attainable. However, I might just keep this list of books going and we'll see how far I get. It's like my Netflix queue. I keep watching movies, but my list never shrinks, cause I keep adding 'em too...

I still have plenty of books left from 2008, and I pirated NPR's lists (and added a couple others) of their Best Books of 2008 for my Books for 2009...

Books leftover from 2008's list...

List of Books for 2009 - some of these I already have at home, and some I have ordered from the library. I'm really excited that you can get books for FREE!!! from the library. That's about the greatest idea ever. Free books! *walking away in awe*
