What the what?

Thursday was one hell of a day. Dentistry + husband = a loopy dude when he climbs out of the chair. I spent the afternoon asking him to *please* sit down, by this evening he was better, and I'm hoping he'll be back to normal by tomorrow.  Needless to say, as I sat in bed watching Project Runway this evening (I'm sorry, but Ping, you really DID need to go) the husband was unfazed by the continuous rrrrrip of duct tape and fffft as I tore pieces off to create another stag head... Ah....... a pharmaceutical wonderland in his head... I hope he doesn't wake up with a dental drug hangover.

Pierre (Stag #2) is well on his way to completion. I've halted work on Fred (Stag #1) at the initial papering stage so that I can catch Pierre up and decoupage them both at the same time.

I tried to clean house today - Seester was over, so that was fun and she helped clean up the kitchen. It was a wReCk. God forbid that I don't get any housework done tomorrow as I hang out with the boys (one I'm keeping home, the other works here so......) because it REALLY needs some help. What do we do all the time that we have such a messy house? Oh yeah... 2 dogs + 3 kids + crafty mama + techno papa + more fun than worrying about fur on the floor = a lived in house...

Bah, it will all work out in the end. The kids help out quite a bit, and I think that they are starting to gain an appreciation for time management and what it takes to run a household. Not a full and complete grasp, but an inkling... Even though I doubted its efficacy and moral ground, bribing the children with "screen" time for chores done has really been a stroke of genius. James decided after many arguments about getting things done around the house that he was cutting to the chase. He typed up a list, printed it out twice, gave one to the boy and one to the girl and said "Ok, alternate days. Every day these things must be done. Do not even approach me to ask about playing video games unless a) it's your day and b) these items are done FIRST. Every time." So wow, it kind of works! All of a sudden, their rooms are kept tidy, their laundry is exchanged dirty for clean, they put their clothes away, recycling & garbage get taken out and put on the curb, dishes are in and out of the dishwasher, and dogs are bathed and fed. It's really rather impressive. Even the smallest person likes to vacuum and put away silverware. He also adores wiping muddy spatter dots off the walls when Lala comes in from the rain soaking wet and muddy belly.

Tomorrow also I need to get started on a number of crafty projects... Listings for Etsy, including getting an inspiration board put together and photographed for a special order wedding cake topper... Valentine for an exchange with Kecia Deveney, owner/proprietress/crafty/mixed media artist of Lemoncholy's Studio... finishing up Valentines and gift & candy boxes for the store, and general clean up of the art space in my house... It exploded...

Here's hoping everyone has a calm, collected & lovely Friday...
