Books recently read... 4 for 2012

Wildwood by Colin Meloy - wonderful. fun. fantastic (just finished before Christmas) I LOVE the art in this book, illustrated by Carson Ellis, who happens to be one of my favorite illustrators... I picked this up just before the big push for them started on the innerwebs - and I think they deserve every bit of praise. It's such a good story.

Bed & Breakfast by Lois Battle - a moderately entertaining story  (just finished before Christmas)

The Dirty Life by Kristin Kimball - a story of farming! of hard work and making your dreams stick! (finished January 2012)  I'm super excited because I'm also registered for an Oregon State University Small Farms Conference in February 2012 for which Kristin Kimball is the keynote speaker!

Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen by Susan Gregg Gilmore- also a moderately entertaining story, not any great novel... (finished January 2012)

The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon - lovely (finished January 2012)

The Life of Pi by Yann Martel - I can't even begin to summarize my feelings on this book. But it is a must read. (finished January 2012)
